Frances E. Carpenter

EARLY - Mrs. Frances E. Carpenter, 81, formerly of Van Horn and Odessa, died 
Sunday, May 27, 2001 at a local nursing home. Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at 
First Baptist Church in Early with the Rev. Eddie Ailshie and the Rev. Terry Kizer 
officiating. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Van Horn 
Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mrs. Carpenter was born Aug. 7, 1919, in El Paso. She married Charles M. Carpenter 
June 3, 1937. He died April 5, 2001. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and was a 
member of Crescent Park Baptist Church in Odessa for more than 38 years and a 
member of the First Baptist Church in Early.

Survivors are three daughters, Carolyn Heard of Early, Kay Hoelting of Vandalia, OH 
and Paula Gildon of Fort Worth; a brother, Paulie Evans of El Paso; a sister, Lottie 
Woods of Van Horn; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-
grandson.

The family requests memorials be made to the Bloys Camp Meeting Association in Fort 
Davis, TX; Campers on Mission, or Alliance Baptist Church of Fort Worth.
