Georgia M. Cooney
Georgia M. Cooney, 78, of Bucks of Gaines Creek, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in 
McAlester

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the 
direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born July 4, 1931, in Indiana, Calif., she was the daughter of Edward W. Maule and 
Dorthy Higgins. In her lifetime she fostered more than 100 kids above and beyond her 
own. She spent the last 18 years living at Bucks of Gaines Creek which she dearly 
loved.

Survivors include a brother, Dave Maule and special sister-in-law, Kate, of California; 
four daughters and four sons, Lynda Maxey and husband, Eddie, of Norman, Roy W. 
Cooney III, Ocala, Fla., Donna Cowdrey, Las Vegas, Mary K. Cochran and husband, 
Randy, of Dewar, Thomas Cooney, of Henryetta, Jill Lemons and husband, Monty, of 
McAlester, Jim Cooney and wife, Karen, Ocala, and William Beverlin and wife, Debbie, 
Taylor Mich.; 34 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, 
nephews, neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Roy W. Cooney; parents; one brother; 
daughter, Billie Jo Beverlin, and great-grandson, Tyler Brent.
