From Utica Daily Gazette 7/0/1849: Nichols, Enos, Esq., 75, of Southport, WI d. 
6/27/49 in Buffalo, NY (one of the early settlers in Clinton, NY; was enroute from 
Wisconsin to Clinton, NY to visit relatives when stricken - with cholera.
Bio: Enos Nichols, Esq. was married to Mary (Polly) Bullen. They had 13 children. The 
family lived in Clinton, Oneida Co. NY, where he was considered a gentleman farmer. 
His children were all well educated.In the late 1840s, they moved to Lake Co. Illinois, 
where many of the family members bought land. In 1849 Enos went to Holley, NY to 
visit two of his daughters. He got sick on the way, and died in Buffalo.
