BOYLSTON Barbara died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, December 23 with her 
family at her side. She was born May 1, 1915. She was a graduate of Bancroft School, 
and received a BS of Science with Honors from the University of Massachusetts. Her 
life was filled with gardening, music and dance. She was predeceased by her mother 
and father, Maude and Bill Keck and by her husband Chet. She is survived by her 
daughter and son in law, Natalie and Bill Matheson of East Lansing, Mich. and by her 
granddaughter, Barbara (Alan) Mohler of Okemos, Mich. Barbara and Chet started the 
Bay Path Barn in Boylston in 1953. In March of 2003 she moved from Boylston to 
Michigan to be near her family. 

 A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28th at the First Congregational 
Church of Boylston; burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, 
contributions may be made to NEADS Dogs for the Deaf and Disabled, PO Box 213, 
West Boylston, MA 01583. The family has entrusted Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 
Lincoln Street, Worcester with arrangements.
