The famous photographer Lewis Hine was his friend and was hired by Manny to teach 
at the Ethical Culture School. It seems Manny "made" him the famous photographer 
that he became. Manny had persuaded Hine to enter the State Normal School in 
Oshkosh where Manny taught. Later Manny became superintendent of New York's 
Ethical Culture School.
