bio in "Electrical World and Engineer" (1905) Primary and secondary education at 
Plainfield, NJ. Was in medical course at NY Medical College, became interested in 
electricity, entered as a student the works of the Daft Electic Co. in Greenville, J, 
where he assisted in the first commercial railway work in US. From 1886 to 1891 in 
employ of Mr Augustus Noll and Edison Electric Illuminating Co of NY, went from 
workman to general foreman. In 1891 went to Salvador, where he designed and 
erected steam and hydraulic alternating current plants i two cities. In 1893 he installed 
the city plant at Tampico, Mexico, and in same year one at Newton NJ. In 1896 
became superintendent of construction for Andrews-Ryan Co of Boston, and installed 
two central exchanges at Hampton Va and Haverhill Mass. In 1898 and 1899 engaged 
in cable work at Santiago and Manila, and in 1901, employed by GE, built large plants 
at Charleston SC and Banes, Cuba. In Aug 1901 appt superintendent of Lorain Steel 
Co electrical dept, then in 1893 appt electrical engineer of Canadian Pacific RR. 
Designed two large plants at Montreal and Ft William, resigned to be consulting 
engineer with Erie RR, the went to Colmbia to reconstruct the Medellin electric 
generating plant. Became interested in gold mining and sent back as superintendent 
of two mines. Inventor in several depts of electrical engineering, has been granted 
patents on brush holder, magazine arc lamp, reduction furnace, controller brake, car 
ventilation system, and others. Has written an number of articles for the technical 
press. Book has photo.
