Mrs. Helen Blodgett Boggs passed away on March 31, 1920, after suffering her third
shock, from which she did not regain consciousness. She was in her usual health and
attended the funeral of Miss Esther Simons just one week previous to the time when
the same minister and the same choir were called upon to perform the last sad rites in
her memory. It does seem as though Ingleside is having: more than its share of
affliction; there have been held five funerals in the
Christian church here in three weeks.
Mrs. Boggs was a faithful wife, mother and neighbor, and was a generous supporter of
and a great worker in the Ingleside Christian Church, of which she had been a member
since early in life. We will all miss her as a friend, and will miss her consistent
Christian examples.
She was born in Ingleside on July 27, 1858, a daughter of the late Ansel and Harriet
Blodgett, and was the last one of that family. She wa s united in marriage with Leroy
Boggs at the home of her parents on December 28, 1870, and to them were born one
son and two daughters, Frank Boggs, of Atlanta;] * Mrs. Grant Polmanteer, of Atlanta,
and Mrs. Charles Noble, of Ingleside, all of whom survive. Her husband also survives,
and is now critically ill at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grant Polmanteer, ia Atlanta.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. E. Woodward, of Atlanta, and interment
was made in Clearview cemetery, at. North Cohocton. The bearers were her nephews:
Barton 01-ney, Arba Blodgett, Everett Wheaton, Harvey Graves, Charles Presler and
Dwight Chapman.
