Frederick W. Savory
of Greene

Frederick W. Savory, 76, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2004. He 
was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mildred Savory; and by a sister, Doris 
Thomas. He was survived by his wife of 55 years, Elsie M. Savory, Greene; son and 
daughter-in-law, Thomas and MaryLee Savory, Fulton, and their sons, Matthew, 
Benjamin and Jeffrey; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Richard Schwab, East 
Syracuse, and their daughters, Robyn, Kristin and Kathryn; son and daughter-in-law, 
James and Michelle Savory, Greene, and their children, Elizabeth, Danielle, James 
Scott and Keith; sisters and brothers, Lena Brooks, South New Berlin, Alice Collins, 
Mich., Sylvia Rozelle, Laurens, Carolyn Mertz, Greene, Reginald Savory, Oxford, 
Stanley Savory, Tenn., Donald Savory, Greene; many nieces and nephews. Fred 
operated a dairy farm on Indian Brook Road since 1957, the last 25 years with his son, 
Jim. He also owned and operated Savory Crop Supply for 41 years. He was president 
of Greene Bowling Association and was secretary of many bowling leagues for many 
Noble Grand and was past district deputy of Chenango and Broome districts. He 
served on the Town of Greene Tax Grievance Board for many years.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango 
St., Greene. Burial will be in Godfrey Cemetery in Guilford. Friends of the family may 
call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Root Funeral Home. Memorial 
contributions in his memory may be made to Greene Emergency Squad, 8 N. Canal St., 
Greene, N.Y. 13778.
