Marguerite R. Patterson Services: Friday, April 26, 1 p.m. Graveside services will be 
held on Friday, April 26 at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery on River Blvd. For Marguerite 
R. Patterson, age 93, of Hayden, Idaho, who died Thursday, April 18, 2002 in 
Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d Alene, Idaho. She was born April 13, 1909 in Salt 
Lake City, Utah to Charles and Ethel (Rummel) Riley. She graduated from Utah State 
University and worked for the Red Cross during W.W.II. Marguerite received 
commendations from both the Army and Red Cross for her outstanding organization 
and supervision of the Recreation Center at the San Francisco Port of Embarkation. It 
was there that she met George Pat Patterson who was assigned in Oakland as a 
Medical Corpsman. They were married on July 19, 1946 and made their home in 
Bakersfield, CA where Marguerite worked for many years as a bookkeeper. Marguerite 
will be remembered by all who were acquainted with her as a warm and loving person 
who always thought of others before herself. She was preceded in death by her 
husband in 1991. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jeri and Fred Fischer 
of Hayden, ID; and grandchildren, Keith and Meggan of Hayden, ID, and Marine LCPL 
Kent Fischer stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. The family prefers memorials to Hospice 
(the local hospice of Bakersfield).
