 Merle Hutchings Shaw passed away on July 5, 2004 due to heart failure. 

 Merle was born to Jesse Elbarus and Ethel Pierce Hutchings on April 10, 1940 in 
Provo, Utah. Merle later met Joseph Michael Shaw, they were married on March 2, 
1955 for 26 years. Later divorced, but remained good friends. Merle was a great 
Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and was always there for her family. She also worked 
at MS Society and volunteered her time. Merle worked at Hartvigsen School as an 
assistant, then worked at Holy Cross Hospital. After she retired, she volunteered as a 
foster grandmother at Hartvigsen School. She loved all the children and was devoted 
to all of her loved ones. 

 Merle is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Bob) Dube, Barbara (Roy) Skog, Kelly 
Argyle and Ray Page, Judy Hogg; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

 A viewing will be held on Friday July 9, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 
5850 South 900 East. Cremation to follow the viewing. In lieu of flowers please send 
donations to the Hartvigsen School for the handicapped.
