HIS INJURIES FATAL. Runaway Accident Results in Death of Frank Thomas, of 
Merrill.


Merrill, Aug. 11 - (Special) - While Frank Thomas of Merrill, his wife and two children 
and two children of J. H. Whitney, the Merrill hardware dealer in whose store Mr. 
Thomas was employed, were driving near Paine's Station Sunday afternoon, the 
horses became frightened at a dog and ran away. All were thrown out of the carriage. 
Mr. Thomas fell between the wheels. His right thigh was fractured and he received 
internal injuries from which he died at 8:30 o'clock last night. The other occupants of 
the carriage escaped injury. Mr. Thomas was about 32 years of age and was highly 
respected by the residents of this community. Arrangements for the funeral have not 
been completed."
