Edward attended Haverford College, but withdrew before he obtained a degree. He 
then entered into the lumber business started by his father and uncle when his uncle 
died in 1844. He retired from that business in 1883. In 1865, Edward was a member of 
Company C, Gray Reserves. Edward lived in Phila., Pa.
Edward and Harriet had no children.
