Is he Eugenius A Jack, in Leavenworth in 1930 census, b 1903, Mo. father b Va., m b 
Tenn? Most likely. But how to account he is Alexander R or Allie O in previous 
censuses? Or that mother b Ill not Tenn. A disguise? Son of Kenneth? Unlikely. If the 
R is for Richardson (maiden name of Marion) then the Eugenius A Jack is someone 
else, but wow, coincidence in bplace and date and name. Hmmm. elsewhere in 
census. Hmmm. This is the Leavenworth Military Home, and census lists veterans, 
workers, attendants.

not mentioned in father's obituary
A note in the public stories section of ancestry explains he is in 1920 census as 
Alexander R Jack at 5700 Bartmer Ave., St Louis. Gould's 1920 St Louis directory, 
though, shows E. Alex Jack, and E. Alex Jack, Jr. at that address. In the 1930 census 
at the National Military Home, it has the info I found, plus "Father E.A. Jack, Dithridge 
Apt., Pittsburg..." Then it says that this census entry brought an inquiry to Nat'l 
Archives, which provided "Eugenius A. Jack, War Register No. 35423, enlisted 9-27-
23, Ft. Douglas, UT, Rank P, Company and Regiment MD, Time and place of 
Discharge 10-8-26/Denver CO, Disabilities when admitted to National Military Home 
Gastritis Chronic. Born in MO, age 27, height 5'8", ruddy complexion, brown eyes and 
hair. Residence subsequent to discharge Kansas City, MO. Note for re-admission 1-20
-30 to 3-13-31." posted b owner of Johnson/Johnson/Bradley_Jack Tree. place of 
death 12020 Industrial Ave Apt A, South Gate, LA. Says his mother is Mary Ann 
(Marion) Horne, dtr of Shanley R. Horne and Mary Morrissey. No spouse or children 
listed
