15 Aug 1850 Penna. Freeman: "Departed this life on the 13th Inst. at his residence in 
Philadelphia, ISAAC CLENDENON, in the 69th year of his age, after a severe illness of 
nearly three weeks, which he bore with great calmness and Christian fortitude, having 
the happy assurance that his day's work had been done in the day time. By this 
afflictive dispensation of a superintending Providence, who rules all things according 
to his good pleasure, his survivors are solemnly admonished to be prepared for the 
final summons, as we have cause to believe he was prepared."
