Born in Toronto, Ont Canada 1913. Son of American Citizen and IrishImmigrant. Was 
also registered in North Brookfield, Mass by father whowas born there and returned 
when second son was born.
Joined church in Toronto abt 1937, was threatened with banishment butthreat was not 
carried out.
Married 20 May 1939 at Weston, Ontario by Elder David A Smith,address: 36 
Fernwood Ave. Toronto. Winessess: Elder Fost W Flake ofSnowflake, Az, and Lillie F 
A Harris.
Belonged to NY Nat'l Guard, living in Buffalo, N Y when Pearl Harbourwas attacted. 
Attempted to enlist but was rejected due to familystatus, migrated to SLC, where he 
engaged in various defense relatedjobs, first driving truck for Geneva Steel in Orem 
Utah, then asCivilian Guard at Hill Field (now Hill Air Force Base) in Clearfield,Ut. He 
then became deputy town Marshall in Bountiful, Utah, where hegained some renown 
when he discovered 2 Prison Escapees sackingGoodfellows store, and the ensuing 
running gun battle along 4th eastin Bountiful and on into Centerville. He recieved 
notice even in theNew York Times for that incident. He was chosen as one of the 
firstFBI training offers, but the city of Bountiful, wouldn't give himleave. That position 
was a victim of politics.
He was a lifelong Seventy, spurning several attempts to make him aHigh Priest. 
Served an LDS mission with his wife in the Salt LakeIndian Ward.
