"Thelma W. Fitzsimmons

WEST COLUMBIA — Graveside services for Mrs. Thelma Whittier Fitzsimmons, 89, of 
West Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2005, in Greenlawn 
Memorial Park, with Rev. Don Davis officiating. The family has entrusted Greenlawn 
Funeral home with the arrangements.

Mrs. Fitzsimmons died Tuesday, August 16, 2005. Born June 18, 1916, in Mechanic 
Falls, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Lena Whittier, and was the 
widow of Patrick Lewis Fitzsimmons, Sr. Mrs. Fitzsimmons had retired from the 
University of South Carolina.

Survivors are two sons, Patrick Lewis Fitzsimmons, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and 
Richard Fitzsimmons of Gaston; 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She 
was predeceased by a son, James Percy Fitzsimmons. She brought love and joy to the 
lives of many and leaves behind hearts full of precious memories."
