1981 book:
William was valedictorian of the 1871 graduating class of Haverford College. He aslo 
was elected "Spoon Man", the award given to the most popular member of the class.
	William was a miller, and owned the Malvern Flour Mills. William sold the 
flour mills to his cousin Levi Stokes Thomas (1E7242); William is not only 1E9215, but 
through his mother is 1E7255. Levi's wife Sidney Walter was a niece of Eliza House 
who married William's uncle David Evans (1E922).
	Together with his uncle David Evans (1E922), William planned the town of 
Malvern, Pa., and is considered, together with David, as the founder of that town. The 
book "History of Malvern" is dedicated to him, and contains many pictures of William, 
his properties, and his relatives. William also was a librarian, a banker, and a 
processor of platinum.
William and Mary had no children.
In 1860, William lived with his great uncle Benjamin Maule (1E96) in London Grove, 
Pa. After their marriage, William and Mary lived at the corner of Roberts Lane and 
Channing Ave., Malvern, Pa. In 1886, in an effort to combat consumption, of which his 
parents and three siblings had died, William went to Colorado Springs, Col., and then 
to Pasadena, Cal. He returned to Malvern in 1890.
