William attended Haverford College, where he earned an S.B. degree in 1896. At 
Haverford, he was manager of the cricket team. William was assistant naval architect 
for the International Navigation Co. He also was township commissioner of Haddon 
Twp., N.J., and meter and distribution supervisor for several utilities.
   In 1925, William lived in Chicago, Ill.
   William did not marry.

liners. Also was an amateur photographer.

W.H. Bettle stamp on verso of the mount. Bettle was born in 1873. Bettle was an 
amateur photographer who worked as superintendent of meters at Public Service 
Electric & Gas in Newark, NJ. In 1950, He died at age 77. He exhibited extensively at 
the photo salons of the mid to late 1930s. The Worcester Art Museum and the 
Brooklyn Museum of Art both have holdings of his work. Shipping and insurance costs 
will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania and New 
York buyers must pay appropriate sales tax. International clients are responsible for
