Daughter of Daniel Esley & Mary Alice Ives Cadwallader. Eleanor was a RN for many 
years. Early in her life, she wanted to go to India as a Christian Missionary but was 
unable to due to health concerns. Eleanor was married to Ralph Gordon Sherman for 
62 years. They resided in Eagle Rock at their residence on Hartwick St and the 
Solheim Lutheran Home from 1938 until their deaths. Eleanor attended the Eagle Rock 
Presbyterian Church and was active in the 20th Century Women's Club and the Eagle 
Rock Historical Society. Eleanor was also a painter and several of her works are on 
display in the Eagle Rock area.
