GLOWAC, Jeannette Chaffee 
 Jeannette Chaffee Glowac passed on peacefully Monday (March 30, 1998) at the 
Middlesex Memorial Hospice. Jeannette was born Nov. 26, 1918 the daughter of Ruth 
and Henry Chaffee of Meriden. She was a 1939 graduate of the Ona M. Wilcox School 
of Nursing in Middletown. She served as a dedicated and compassionate Registered 
Nurse throughout her adult career and enjoyed the position of School Nurse at Valley 
Regional High School for 15 years until her retirement in 1981. She was a long time 
member of the Soroptomists Society, Eastern Star, Homemakers and Couples Club and 
worked for many years as the Home Service Chairman for the Middlesex Chapter of the 
American Red Cross. She also was an avid volunteer for her Community, Church, 
School, numerous charitable organizations and a dedicated wife and mother. 
Jeannette was married to and predeceased by her husband of 49 years Stanley M. 
Glowac on Aug. 19, 1996 and settled in his hometown of Deep River where they 
raised their three children. She leaves her daughter Candace Schrang of Deep River, 
Susan and Dennis Murphy of Marshfield, MA, her son Bruce Glowac and his wife 
Taffy, of Essex; also her grandchildren, Amanda O'Donnell and her husband Colin of 
Northhampton, MA, USMC PFC Peter Glowac, Tim, Mark and Michael Glowac of 
Essex, Heather Schrang and Josh and Ben Wetmore of Deep River and her great 
grandson Henry O'Donnell. Jeannette also leaves her sister Catherine Nettleton of 
Manchester, and was predeceased by her first husband Raymond Gearing who was 
killed in action during World War II. There will be a ``celebration of life'' memorial 
service at the Deep River Congregational Church, Saturday, April 4, at 4 p.m. The 
Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook is in char ge of 
arrangements.
