Frank Brown Supervisor Dies
69 Year-Old Farmer of Richland Township Victim of Pneumonia Frank C. Brown, 69, 
died in Borgess hospital Monday morning after an illness of about one week. Mr. 
Brown was admitted to the hospital Sunday afternoon, and pneumonia was the 
immediate cause of death. During the last 27 years Mr. Brown had served 
intermittently upon the board of supervisors and also had been elected to every 
township office except justice of the peace and township clerk. He was a Republican 
and had taken keen interest in township, county, state and national politics. Born on 
the homestead of his pioneer father, the late Samuel Brown, just across the road from 
the present Frank Brown home, Mr. Brown made his home his entire life on that 
section one mile east of Richland. He had always been a farmer, and enjoyed good 
health. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Zoebeide Brown, two sons, Ellis M. Brown, 
Chicago, and Hale S. Brown, Richland; one daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Brown, Madison, 
Tenn.; two brothers, Charles Alfred Brown, St. Louis, Mo., and Morse Brown, Chicago, 
and two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Flannigan , St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Emma Harvey, 
Schoolcraft. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the 
Richland church, and burial will take place in Prairie H me cemetery. August Beacon
