CHICAGO, Oct. 23 (UPI) —Lawrence B. Sizer, a former official of Field Enterprises, 
Inc., died today of a heart attack at Mercy Hospital, Benton Harbor, Mich. He was 70 
years old.

Mr. Sizer was public, relations consultant to Field Enteriprises, publisher of the 
Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Daily News, from 1957 to 1971. He was on the 
corporation's board of directors from 1962 to 1967 and was a director of Field 
Communications Corporation, a television subsidiary, from 1964 to 1967.

Before that, Mr. Sizer was a vice president and director, of corporate relations for 
Marshall Field & Co. from 1951 to 1957, after having been sales promotion manager, 
divisional vice president and advertising manager in the period from 1940 to 1951.

From 1932 to 1934 he was editor of The Associated Press bureau in Detroit, then he 
joined the public relations staff of N. W. Ayer in 1934. He had been publicity and 
sales promotion director of Midland United Public Utilities in Indianapolis from, 1929 to 
1932, and began his professional career as a reporter and editor on The Benton 
Harbor News-Palladium in 1922.

Survivors include his widow, the former Catharine Wheeler; two daughters, Mrs. Albert 
S. Chapman of Bad Godesberg, Germany, and Mrs. Charles E. Tingley of Houston; a 
son, Stephen, of St. Joseph, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. William D. Davies, and seven 
grandchildren.
