STRIBRNY Evelyn M. Evelyn M. Stribrny, the loving matriarch of 5 generations, died 
Thursday December 30, 2010 at home with her loving family beside her. She was born 
May 31, 1918 to John and Rose Brown, one of 5 children. On March 4, 1941 she 
married her beloved husband, Raymond Stribrny. They have one daughter, Shirley 
Herman. Before, during and after World War II, she worked for John Brown's Red and 
White Grocery Store owned by her parents, it was a 50 year business in Momineetown, 
OH. For 20 years, she and her husband owned and operated the Ra-Ev Beauty Salon 
in Oregon, OH. In 1982, she and Raymond retired to Port Charlotte, FL for 20 years 
before returning to Toledo to be with their family in 2002. Evelyn was a champion 
Cribbage player for many years, winning many tournaments throughout Florida. She 
loved card games of all kinds and gambling whenever possible. Evelyn is survived by 
her loving husband of 69 years, Raymond; daughter, Shirley Herman; 3 grandchildren, 
Jeffery (Pam) Herman, Kimberly (Jay) Wilson, Douglas (Tammy) Herman; 5 great 
grandchildren, Kelly (Rick) Pierce, Michael (Tasha) Ruth, Christopher Ruth, Kasie 
Herman, Connor Herman; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Ricky Pierce and Karsyn Ruth; 
brother, Loren (Alice) Brown; in laws and many nieces and nephews. She was 
preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother; 2 sisters and in laws. It was Evelyn's last 
loving request that she be cremated and her services be private. A special family 
thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg and Fr. Bill of Christ the King
