CORALVILLE, Iowa - Karen L. Yates passed away on February 9, 2007, following a 
battle with lupus. She was born June 29, 1965, to Marlene and Jim Yates. She is 
survived by her mother, Marlene Yates, Coralville, Iowa, three sons, Justin Petersen, 
Chicago, Ill.; Jonathan Petersen, DeWitt, Iowa; and Timothy Petersen, Clinton, Iowa, 
and two daughters Elisabeth (Ryan) Petersen of Bettendorf, and Tiffany Petersen, 
DeWitt. She is preceded in death by her father, Jim Yates and a longtime partner, 
Becky Moneysmith. She has chosen to be cremated and no services will be held.
