Husband of Alice Jones whom he married 26 August 1909. They were the parents of 
Mary Margaret Harris Smith, Gwyneth Harris Thompson, Florence Roberta Harris 
Tenney, Bruce Kent Harris and Frederick Keith Harris. They also had three children - 
Herschel Craig Harris, Ruth Elaine Harris and Hugh Blondel Harris - who all died 
young.

Dr. Harris graduated in the Class of 1903 from Harvey Medical College and did his 
post-graduate work at the American Medical College. He served a year's internship at 
Cooke County Hospital in Chicago after which he returned to Wilmot, South Dakota 
and began his practice. In 1907, he received an Honorary Degree in Medicine from 
the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery. By 1912, Dr. Harris had taken over the 
management of the local hospital in Wilmot which was considered to be the most 
modern hospital in the state at that time.

He also owned a properous farm outside of Wilmot. He was a member of the Masons 
and the Knights of Pythias.
