Claudia M. Greathead 1930 - 2008 Claudia Greathead passed away peacefully in her 
home in San Jose on February 11, 2008. She was born Claudia Mainguenau and was a 
life long resident of San Jose. She was married to Carroll Greathead who farmed fruit 
orchards in both the San Jose and Hollister areas. She was a graduate of San Jose 
State University and had worked for over forty years for Food Machinery Corporation 
(FMC) when she retired. After Carroll's death she became interested in travel and 
made many trips throughout the nation. Claudia was a member of the First United 
Methodist Church of San Jose and was appointed to the Vision and Leadership Team 
and particularly active in the Methodist women's work area. As an early resident she 
became very active in the California Pioneers Of Santa Clara Valley.. As a professional 
business woman she was a member of the American Business Womens Association. 
in their work with children. She was a member of the Santa Clara County Farm Bureau. 
Claudia was also very interested in current events and lifelong learning, staying active 
in geneology and hearing impaired classes. She loved bright colors and her cats were 
her joy. Survivors include extended family members: Arthur and Janet Greathead, Ruth 
and Charles Wiesman, Marie Greathead, Denis, Joann and Jason Greathead, Nancy 
Borino, Chuck and Sandra Hillam, Dianne Schuster and many great nieces and 
nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of 
Roses at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose. 
Memorial gifts should be sent to The First United Methodist Church of San Jose or to 
San Jose Mercury News (CA) - Saturday, February 16, 2008
