"Mrs. Helen Dorothy Smith 43, late of 404 Pleasant avenue, Oregon city, died 
Tuesday morning following a long illness.

"Mrs. Smith, who was the widow of Edward Smith, whom she married in 1943 and who 
died in 1949, was born on January 5, 1915 at Wendell, Idaho. She had been a 
resident of the state and community for the last 19 years. She was a member of the 
Followers of Christ church.

"Survivors include her father Charles M. Ingersoll and a brother, Robert M. Ingersoll, 
both of Oregon City and a number of nieces and nephews.

"Walter White will officiate at the 2 PM service Friday at the Followers of Christ 
church south of Oregon City on the Molalla Road. Interment will follow in the Carus 
cemetery with Holman-Hankins-Rilance funeral home in charge of arrangements."
