"Washington, Oct 15. Funeral services were held today for Charles Marsh Sumner, 
whose 63 years of life reached back to Cripple Creek, Colo., and Goldfield, Nev., 
boom days.
"He made and lost fortunes in mines, real estate and oil; then went to Los Angeles 
and engaged in the real estate business until 1919 when he moved to Fort Worth, 
Texas, to speculate in oil and mineral lands Coming to Washington in 1926, he 
entered the cooperative apartment business and assisted in development of several 
residential sections."
