Edwasrd J. Scott, 81, of Beckemeyer, Ill., born April 14, 1925, in Beckemeyer, Ill., 
died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center, Carlyle, Ill. 

 Ed retired from Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in Centralia. Prior to that, he 
worked in banking in Carlyle and Bartelso, and was a bookkeeper for auto dealerships 
in Centralia and Belleville. He was a veteran in the US Army during the Korean Era, 
and was a member of American Legion Post 1227, Beckemeyer. He was also a member 
of St. Mary's Church, Carlyle, the Beckemeyer Community Development Club, and The 
Bartelso Knights of Columbus. Ed enjoyed baking and gardening, and was an active 
member of his church and the American Legion. 

 Surviving are his sister, Carol Kantner of Highland, Ill.; a brother, Dr. Leroy Scott of 
St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Lucille Scott of Carlyle, Ill.; and many nieces and 
nephews. 

 Memorials may be made to Carlyle Senior Center or in the form of masses and will be 
received at the funeral home. 

 Visitation: Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6 2006, at St. 
Anthony's Church, Beckemeyer, Ill. 

 Funeral: A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 
St. Anthony's Church, Beckemeyer, Ill. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, 
Beckemeyer, Ill., with military honors by the Beckemeyer American Legion Drill Team.
