PIERSON, MARY JEANETTE Goodrich Age 96, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 
her residence. A Memorial Service will be held 11am Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 
Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 South State Road, Goodrich, MI 48438, with 
a luncheon immediately following the service at the church. Pastor Won D. Kim 
officiating. Contributions may be made to Goodrich United Methodist Church or 
Goodrich Historical Society. Jeanette was born in Ortonville, Michigan on May 7, 
1920, the daughter of the late Claude and Ruth (Markham) Zimmerman. On October 
18, 1940, she married Douglas Pierson and he passed away in 1996. Jeanette was 
very active in the Goodrich community. She volunteered for many years for the 
Wheelock Hospital Auxiliary, Goodrich Band Parents, Friends of the Library, various 
farm organizations and the Goodrich Women's Club. Jeanette was a lifetime member of 
Goodrich United Methodist Church. Jeanette enjoyed flower gardening, was an avid 
reader and sports fan. Jeanette adored her large and loving family. Surviving are son, 
Rodney (Darlene) Pierson; daughters, Janet (Verlon) Burt, Linda (Joe) Sefa; 
grandchildren, Scott, Kimberly, Kelly, Kerri, Matthew and Timothy; great-grandchildren, 
Jacob, Jesse, Lindsay, Morgan, Madison, George, Maximillian, Isaac, Zacharia, Eliza, 
Gabriel, Megan, Tyler, Kaden, Jenesis; step-grandchildren, Hailey, Payton, Ryan, 
Kristin and Allison; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Torrey. She was 
preceded in death by her sister, Joann Freeborn. Your condolences may be shared
