SAPIENZA CAROL O. (nee Olney) of Media, PA, on March 25, 2003. She was 85. She 
was for many years a housewife living with her husband and children in Springfield, 
Pa. She was a graduate of Potsdam State Teachers College. Prior to her marriage, she 
was a music teacher. Mrs. Sapienza loved classical music. She was an expert 
seamstress, and did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and for the Sisters of St. 
Joseph. Her husband Samuel died in 1995. She is survived by a brother, Louis G. 
Olney of Morrisville, NY, a sister, Shirley Kessler, of St. Marys, PA, by her daughters 
Susan Sapienza of Medford Lakes, NJ, Alice Sapienza-Wilson of Glen Mills, PA, and 
Clare Sapienza-Eck of Sea Isle City, NJ, and by her son Stephen Sapienza of New 
York City. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at THE 
PAYNE AND MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY. Funeral 
services for Carol will be 2 p.m. Saturday from the Macedon 1st Baptist Church. 
Interment will be at St. Anne's Cem., Palmyra, NY. Contributions in her memory may be 
made to the Alzheimer's charity of the donor's choice.
