Obituary
Mrs. George Morphet
Death claimed another highly esteemed resident of the Sixth Line community in 
Nottawasaga Tph. on Saturday, April 11th, when Mrs. George Morphet passed away. 
She had not been ill for long and her death came as a shock to her family and her 
friends.
The deceased was born in Artemesia Tph. in 1860 and was a daughter of the late Mr. 
and Mrs. Wm. Wheeler. She received her schooling at Ravenna and in 1884 was 
married in Collingwood to Mr. Morphet who died two years ago.
To mourn her passing she leaves two daughters and two sons, Mrs. John Hogg and 
Mrs. Harry Richardson of the Batteau and Messrs Andrew and Fred at home. One 
daughter died a number of years ago. There are also three sisters, Mrs. John Hogg, 
Thornbury, Mrs. Wm. Morphet, Little Current, and Mrs. George Wheeler, Glenside, 
Sask.
The deceased was of quiet disposition and enjoyed the friendship of a large number of 
people, all of whom mourn her passing. She was a member of the United Church and 
attended regularly the church on the Sixth line.
The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at the family home and was conducted by 
Mr. Swalm and Rev. R. Wiseman. Interment was made in Trinity United Church 
cemetery, the remains being borne to the grave by six nephews, Messrs. Robert 
Robinson, John Morphet, Wesley Scott, Gordon Hogg, Oscar Morphet and Willard 
Clay.
Those attending the funeral from a distance included Mr. R. Robinson, Gore Bay; Mr. 
John Morphet, Mrs. Wm. Morphet and Mrs. A. Morphet of Little Current; Mr. Oscar and 
Miss Isabelle Morphet of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Wesely (sic) of Sutton; Mr. and Mrs. 
John Hogg, Mr. Gordon and Miss Minnie Hogg of Thornbury; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. 
Skippen and Mr. and Mrs. A. Skippen of Clarksburg and MR. and Mrs. Robert Strong 
of Stayner.
