Betty V. Doan, age 83, of West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey, died Monday, November 
21, 2005 at the Spring Creek Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Harrisburg.

She was born in Bloomsburg on July 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Howard L. and 
Elva E. (Hummel) Hill. She resided in Hershey since 1994 and in Lemoyne from 1970 
to 1982. Most of the remainder of her life was spent in Bloomsburg.

Betty was employed as a waitress and hostess at various restaurants.

She attended the Church of the Redeemer, United Church of Christ, Hershey.

She was the widow of Thomas H. Doan III, who died on May 17, 1985. She was also 
preceded in death by a son, a grandson, and a step-grandson.

Surviving are five children, H. Lee Doan and his wife, Nellie of Warren, OH, Richard 
E. Doan and his wife, Joanne of Tampa, FL, Linda, wife of Bobby G. Carter of 
Duncannon, Hali A. Coles of Rolla, MO, Brian H. Doan and his wife, Linda of 
Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 noon in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral 
Home, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. 
Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
