Services for Erwin Roberts McPheters, 74, Boise and a Ketchum native, were 
conducted Jan. 29 at Relyea Funeral Chapel, followed by interment in Morris Hill 
Cemetery, Boise. He died Jan. 27 in a Boise hospital.

McPheters was born Feb. 9, 1908, in Ketchum, the son of a pioneer family there. He 
was reared and had his early education in Ketchum. The family later moved to Salt 
Lake City and he graduated from Granite High School there.

He married Thelma Harriett Worthington in Boise on Jan 9, 1948.

He went into business for himself, operating a body and fender and auto repair shop 
and had one of the first wrecker services in the Salt Lake valley. Later, he closed his 
own shop and was employed for the Grany Hays Automobile Distributorship in Salt 
Lake. 

He was an invitational representative of the Papoose Club of the Cub Scout program 
in Ketchum.

After some years, the family returned to Boise, where Mr. McPheters retired.

He was a member of the Boise 12th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day 
Saints.

Mr. McPheters is survived by his wife Thelma, of Boise; two sons, one daughter, three 
brothers; three sisters and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his twin 
brother.
