BROWNSVILLE - Frances Bain Bye Johnson, 87, kindergarten teacher, died of heart 
failure Sunday at West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. 
Thursday at Brownsville First United Methodist Church, where she was a former 
president of the Sunday school class, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Brownsville 
Funeral Home has charge. She was active in starting Cub Scouts in Brownsville, 
organized the Brownsville Exchangettes, and was a member of the Republican 
Women, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Third Review Club and former 
president of Wednesday Morning Musicale. Mrs. Johnson, the widow of Raymond Bye 
and Lloyd Johnson, leaves a daughter, Betsy Bye Goodner of Jackson; a son, 
Raymond Bye Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother, Chapman Bain of Cordova, and two 
grandchildren.
