Erleane Courtney Cahoon

March 14, 1921 – July 23, 2006

Erleane Cahoon, 85, died on July 23, 2006 at her home in Rockdale. Funeral services 
were July 27 at Southwind Baptist Church in Tomball. Burial was at Earthman-
Resthaven Cemetery in Houston. Dr. Harold Clayton officiated.

Erleane was born in Houston on March 14, 1921 to Wournel Lee and Helen (Frazier) 
Courtney. She lived in Houston for many years, then in Dobbin, TX for 19 years and 
the past 3 years in Rockdale. She married Leslie Cahoon at Shady Acres Church in 
Houston on November 4, 1939. They were welders for 37 years, making the T-shaped 
clothes line poles. They were sold all over the country. Her husband, Leslie, son, 
David Cahoon, brother, Jack Courtney, grandson, Casey Box and her parents 
preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Box and husband Gary of Rockdale, 
daughter-in-law, Reese Cahoon of Dobbin, grandchildren, Kris Box, Randi Carol Box 
and Kevin Cahoon and her sister, Melba Durden of Spring.

She was a charter member of Southwind Baptist Church and a graduate of Reagan 
High School in Houston. Memorials may be made to VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 
2626-B South 37th St., Temple, Texas 76504.
