LITTLE RIVER | William Henry ''Bill'' Burke, 80, of Little River, died Friday, December 
19, 2008 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center, Whiteville, N.C. Born on April 
27, 1928 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late James Lansing and
Marian Helen Guista Burke. Mr. Burke is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lucy Rhyne 
Burke of Little River; two sons, William (Kimberly) Burke and Robert (Patricia) Burke; 
two daughters, Linda Johnson and Mary Ann (Chuck) Burke-Hoggard; 12 
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. 
Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Rockville, Md. 
Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be 
made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 725A Wellington, Wilmington, NC 28401 or Our 
Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1100 8th Avenue
North, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
