Obituary for Robert V. LaGourgue, Jr.Robert V. LaGourgue, Jr. a resident of Dallas, 
OR died on Thursday, August 25th in Dallas. He was born on November 3, 1920 in 
Long Beach, CA the son of Robert and Hazel Elliott LaGourgue, Sr. Robert served in 
the Army for 5 years in the South Pacific during WWII. Robert married Zola Mae 
McKinley 5on November 21, 1946 in Kalispell, MT. They came to Oregon in 1946 and 
moved to Valsetz, OR in 1953. Robert worked in the Valsetz Mill until the family 
settled in Dallas in 1969. Robert and Zola owned and operated Goodfellows Tavern in 
Dallas for over 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. 
Robert was a past member of Valsetz School Board. Robert enjoyed hunting, 
reloading, fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his Daughter; Terrie Reed of 
Monmouth, Son; Frank of El Paso TX along with 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in 
death by his wife Zola.Services will be on Tuesday, August 30th at 1:00 p.m. in Dallas 
Mortuary Tribute Center. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Memorial contributions 
may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute
