abstract (cannot copy and paste): of the Valley Grove district, died following an illness 
of several months. Parents were pioneers in the Walla Walla Valley, his father came 
with has parents from Gloucester, England over 100 years ago.
Educated in the Valley Grove country school, Sharpstein grade school, Walla Walla 
HS. Started farming at age 17, mostly wheat, and Hereford cattle.
After marriage took a job as a age in Olympia, then returned to his farm. Member of the 
First Church of the Nazarene, and served many years as a member of the Board of 
Trustees and as a Sunday School teacher of the class previously taught by his father. 
Member of Valley Grove Farm Bureau, in which he held offices in its early years.
Survivors Mrs. Howard (Helen) Thompson of Nampa Idaho, son Darrell Charles Yeend 
and David Surman Yeend both of Walla Walla, sister Helen Anderson of Los Osos, 
Cal. and then the half siblings. Six grandchildren. Funeral Saturday at 10 am at First 
Church of the Nazarene, Rev George O. Cargill officiating.
