Joseph M. Linville, 85, of 5313 Woodlawn Drive, Lower Paxton Twp., died Wednesday 
in Community General Osteopathic Hospital. 

He had been an underwriter for Nationwide Insurance Co. and a salesman for Wayne 
Electric and Sears Roebuck.; was a former fire chief of Ranger Hose Company, 
Berwick, and a former assistant chief of Colonial Park Fire Company; an Army veteran 
of World War II; and a member of Colonial Park United Church of Christ, Knapp F&AM 
Lodge 462, Berwick Royal Arch Chapter 314 and Rescue Hose Company, 
Susquehanna Twp. 
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Linville; three sons, Douglas of Halifax, David of New 
Bloomfield and Ronald of Harrisburg; a daughter, Nancy Jo Wingard of Texas; a sister, 
Jane Dendler of Berwick; and seven grandchildren. 
Services will be private. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the 
convenience of the family. Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Colonial Park, is 
handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Colonial Park Fire 
Company, 733 Firehouse Lane, Harrisburg 17111, or his church, 5000 Devonshire 
Road, Harrisburg 17109.
