Funeral services for Essie Lee Mayo, 94, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, 
July 24, 2009, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, with Rev. James Brigham officiating. 

 Burial will follow at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral 
Home. 

 Mayo died Monday, July 20, 2009, in Columbus, TX. 

 She was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Comanche. She married Odell Mayo Jan. 31, 1934, 
in Hamlin. She was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church. Mayo was a homemaker 
and a waitress for many years. She had lived in Sweetwater since the 1940s. 

 Survivors include two sons, Bennie Tucker and wife Fay of Cold Springs and Thomas 
Mayo of Farmington, N. M.; one daughter, Christine Brannan and husband D. B. of 
Columbus; one sister, Hartine Lakey of Abilene; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-
grandchildren. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Pauline Warren Donham; 
husband, Odell Mayo; brothers, Ben Donham and Bill Donham; sister, Velma Decker; 
and grandson, Thomas Brannan.
