Mrs. Raymond (Helen L. Schoonover) Phelps, 90, of Sullivan died at 5:55 p.m. 
Sunday, July 6, 2003 in the Sullivan Health Care Center in Sullivan. 
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2003 in Greenhill 
Cemetery in Sullivan with visitation one hour before the service in the McMullin-Young 
Funeral Home in Sullivan. 
Helen was born Oct. 4, 1912 in Moultrie County, the daughter of Charles and Rachel 
Waggoner Schoonover. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Sullivan, 
White Shrine of Shelbyville. She married Raymond Phelps March 2, 1932 in Sullivan, 
and he died June 27, 1973. 
She is survived by great-nieces, Cheryl Ray of Sullivan, Mika McCall of Shelbyvile, 
and great-nephews, Charles Lyle and Greg Schoonover, both of Sullivan. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother. 
Memorials to the American Cancer Society are suggested.
