MATTOON - Marvin Crisler, 86, of Mattoon, passed away at 4:29 a.m. Wednesday,
February 14, 2007 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Funeral services honoring his life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell-Jerdan
Funeral Home with Rev. Van Frownfelter officiating. Interment will follow in Rest
Haven Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by VFW Post 4325. Visitation will be from
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Marvin was born February 24, 1920 in Orchard Colorado, a son of Willis David and
Emma B. (Andrews) Crisler. He married Opal R. Heritage April 3, 1943 at St. Louis,
Missouri. She was the love of his life until her death July 20, 1999. He is survived by a
son, Larry J. Crisler of Decatur and a grandson, Andrew Crisler, also of Decatur. Two
brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Marvin spent his youth in Murphysboro, Illinois prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Army
during World War II. He worked over twenty years as a maintenance man for Kuehne
Manufacturing of Mattoon and later retired as plant engineer at Justrite Manufacturing
of Mattoon. Although his career was spent repairing machines, his quiet, unassuming
manner deeply affected all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Marvin was
a loyal citizen, committed employee, loving husband and great father and grandfather.
His legacy is far greater than he would ever have permitted himself to believe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2524 Farragut
Drive, Springfield, IL 62704. To share a memory, or light a virtual candle, please visit
