Isabel M. Baker, 77, of State College died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at The Fairways at 
Brookline Village. 

 Born July 20, 1924, in Braddock, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert H. and Elsie 
Alexander Milligan. 

 On Sept. 1, 1948, she married Richard H. Baker, who died on Nov. 26, 1984. 

 She was a 1945 graduate of Penn State. 

 She was a mathematics and science teacher for the State College Area School 
District, retiring in 1982. 

 Previously, she had been a teacher in the Swissvale School District. 

 She belonged to the following organizations: Alpha Omicron Pi fraternity; the Penn 
State Faculty Women's Club; the Faculty Women's Club Antique Study Group; and the 
American Red Cross Bloodmobile Program. She was a member of the board of directors 
and treasurer for Associated Charities. She was a past member of the Daughters of the 
American Revolution. 

 She enjoyed antiques. She was an avid needle worker and loved nature, especially 
birds. 

 She was a member of State College Presbyterian Church. 

 She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. Baker of Danville; two sons, David L. 
Baker of State College and Dr. Jeffrey H. Baker of Boalsburg; a sister, Helen M. 
Watson of Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren. 

 In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, 
Richard V. and Wilbert H. Milligan Jr. 

 Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. 
Atherton St. in State College. 

 The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the State College Presbyterian Church, 132 
W. Beaver Ave., State College, with the Rev. Dr. Charles J. Curley officiating. 

 Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park in College Township. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allen L. and Richard H. 
Baker 4-H Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Agriculture Sciences Dept., The 
Pennsylvania State University, One Old Main, University Park, PA 16802.
