Robert G. Forrest

Robert G. Forrest, 67, Shelbyville, died Thursday in an automobile accident near 
Shelbyville.

Born April 12, 1931, he was the son of Harry C. Forrest and Nannie J. (Newland) 
Forest. 

Mr. Forrest married Peggy S. (Hughes) Forrest on May 8, 1965. She survives.

He was a fire rescue specialist at Camp Atterbury and at Nellis Air Force Base in Las 
Vegas, Nev., before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Flat Rock Volunteer Fire 
Department.

Mr. Forrest was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks, the American Legion and the 
Flat Rock Christian Church.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert L. Forrest, Shelbyville, and Ronald D. 
Forrest, Indianapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Teresa) Whitis, Flat Rock, Mrs. 
Richard (Carol) Guffey, Shelbyville, and Mrs. Jim (Lou Ann) Green, Tell City; three 
brothers, Harold Forrest and Aurbrey Forrest, both of Columbus; and Gary Forrest, 
Brown County; two sisters, Gorea Rothrock and Joy Voyles, both of Columbus; 11 
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ian Farnsley 
and Dale Whitis officiating. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery.
