Bryce Whitney Tharp 


GREENVILLE -- Mr. Bryce Whitney Tharp, 88, died Monday, June 9, 2008. 

 The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral 
Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. 

 Mr. Tharp a native of Marion County, IN, had been a resident of Greenville since 
1965. He attended Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. Until his retirement he was 
employed as an electrical engineer with the V. O. A. He was a member of the 
the Eastern Star, where he had served as Worthy Patron, the White Shrine, and a 
member of the Scottish Rite Bodies. 

 He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Karl Tharp; daughter, Pamela Tharp 
Iseley and husband, Pan, of Greensboro; grandchildren, Carolyn S. Day, of Louisville, 
KY, Michelle S. Deane, of Greensboro, and Brian A. Stockert, of Clearwater, FL; and 
six great-grandchildren. 

 The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral 
Home, and at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Star service.
