Adele Carol McCoy Astin 1948 ~ 2005 Our beautiful and loving wife, daughter, sister 
and aunt Adele Carol McCoy Astin passed away on September 17, 2005 in Houston, 
Texas, after a long illness. Adele was born on February 27, 1948 to Eueda C. and the 
late Tom M. McCoy in Salt Lake City, Utah. Adele attended Olympus High School and 
the University of Utah. She and her husband traveled widely and lived in Chicago, 
San Francisco, Alexandria, Virginia, and Houston. The beauty of her person was 
exceeded only by that of her loving spirit. Adele will live in the memories of her family 
and friends for her great kindness, compassion, generosity, hospitality, sophisticated 
wit and sense of humor, and her creative and artistic talents. She was drawn to the 
unique and was neither intimidated by the road less traveled nor felt compelled to 
follow the crowd. She managed medical offices in Chicago and San Francisco and 
worked for many years as a software engineer in the telecommunications industry in 
Houston. Adele created superb needlepoint, was a highly talented decorator and a 
sparkling and thoughtful hostess. She greatly enjoyed jewelry and the friends she 
made in collecting it. Above all, she was a loving wife and family member and a 
devoted and loyal friend. We shall not see another like her again. Adele is survived by 
her husband, Ronald T. Astin, Houston, Texas; mother, Eueda McCoy, brother Michael 
T. McCoy (wife Elizabeth) of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister Anita McCoy Manka (husband 
Charles) of Alexandria, Virginia; and in-laws Sharon Astin, Jeff and Johnny Pugh and 
Craig and Laurie Goodrich, each of Salt Lake City, and Dr. Marc and Cathy Astin, of 
Twin Falls, Idaho. She is also survived by four nephews, Morgan Sanders (wife 
Michelle), Devon Eldredge (wife Kami), Cris Astin (wife Nickie) and Nathan Astin (wife 
Andrea); 10 nieces, Sharon (Chris) Johnson, Margaret (Meg) McCoy, Michelle (Missy) 
De Brule (husband Darnell), Nicole Eldredge, Ashley Davis (husband Mitch), Danielle 
Astin, Tiffany Goodrich, Kira Broderick (husband Rex), Candice Goodrich and Megan 
Goodrich; and several great-nieces and nephews. A private memorial celebrating 
Adele's life will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah for family and close friends on 
Saturday, November 26, 2005. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts be made to
