Marian Carpenter Rumel passed away in Salt Lake City on June 4, 2000.

She was born October 2, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lewis Carpenter and Martha 
Pack. She grew up in Salt Lake City, where she attended high school and the LDS 
Business College.Marian spent much of her early life caring for her elderly parents. 
She married Alburtin Bramwell in Salt Lake City on April 24, 1942. After his death, she 
married William Ray Rumel M.D. on March 14, 1964 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She owned a 
specialty clothing store with her sister-in-law for many years in Holladay, Utah. She 
was an avid reader, a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed fishing with her 
husband in the Tetons. she was an excellent cook and delighted her large family with 
gracious hospitality and wonderful gourmet creations on numerous holiday occasions.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Fern B. Carpenter; a niece, Shauna Carpenter 
Webster; a nephew, Ronn Carpenter; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; four 
stepchildren, Barbara Rumel Owens (Sheridan), Beverly Rumel McDaniels, Steven Ray 
Rumel (Janet) and William Dale Rumel (Peggy); 14 grandchildren and many great-
grandchildren.

Special thanks to her personal caregivers, Elizabeth, Juliana and Yolanda, who 
provided tender, loving care for several years prior to her death.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share their special memories of Marian on 
Sunday, June 11, at 6 p.m. at 235 East 9800 South, Sandy, Utah.
