A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Melvin Price worked hard, laughed and 
teased, loved life and valued independence. He passed away at his home, October 
25, 2004. Mel was born Dec. 27, 1919 to Angus Byard and Lucy Price and was raised 
in Union, Utah. He was an Eagle Scout. While serving an LDS mission, he was made 
Branch President. His marriage to Elaine Baggaley was solemnized in the Salt Lake 
Temple. A veteran of World War II, he served as an aviation cadet pilot and officer in 
the Army Air Force. At the U of U, Mel received a Masters in Marketing and degrees in 
Finance and Math. He was an educator, police officer and businessman. After many 
years at Hill AFB, he moved to Edwards AFB as Chief of Provisioning where he worked 
closely with the space shuttle program. He retired after being offered a job at the 
Pentagon. Surviving are daughters, Melanie Gordon (Steven), Carolyn Montgomery 
(Jonathan), six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and brothers, Eugene and Calvin 
Price. He will be honored with a Memorial Friday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Parley's 
2nd Ward Chapel, 1870 E Parleys Canyon Blvd. Family and friends are welcome one 
hour prior to service. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Mem. Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr.
