Joseph Ellis Yardley, age 62, passed away Thursday, October 31, 1996 in Milford, 
Utah.

He was born July 8, 1934 in Beaver, Utah to James Ellis Yardley and Linda Bushnell. 
He married Verlene Gray on November 5, 1955 in Minersville, Utah.

He was a member of the LDS Church. Joe was employed at several different places 
throughout his life. Truck driving in Los Angeles, Montana and Utah; mining-logging 
and saw mills driller on drill rigs in Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and New 
Mexico from 1980-1992. He was Quarry supervisor at Continental Lime in Delta, Utah. 
He grew up ranching with his father and had a great love for cattle and ranching. For 
the past 30 years he farmed and ranched in Milford. His greatest joy was his family 
and spent many hours with them always. He was very proud of their accomplishments.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Verlene of Milford; his children: Joseph Russell 
(Karmalee) Yardley of Las Vegas; Curtis G. (Kristen) Yardley of Parowan, Utah; Lynette 
Pearson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mark D. (Julie) Yardley of Milford; and Mrs. Travis 
(Leanne) Skougaard of Parowan, Utah; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Delbert Yardley of 
Philipsburg, Montana; and three sisters, Mrs. Jim (Rhea) Dean of Payson, Utah; 
Martha Ann Deitz and Linda Newenschwander, both of Philipsburg, Montana.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 4, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Milford 2nd LDS 
Ward Chapel. Friends may call Sunday, November 3, 1996 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the 
church and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the 
Minersville City Cemetery, Minersville, Utah.
